Splish Splash Georgia's Taking A Bath

Georgia's first bath at home - July 20, 2008
Here is Georgia before she was put in the tub. We wondered how she would do...

Here she is with her cord and girl parts covered; doing fine. Now, nearly two months later she loves bath time!

And we love how cute she is after her bath, wrapped in her towel.

KC Buddy Walk - Support Very Harry!

Please support me in the KC Buddy Walk. I'm walking for my favorite nephew Harrison. I should also mention that he is my only nephew. He is my favorite nonetheless.

"The Buddy Walk is a one-mile walk in which anyone can participate without special training. It is also a huge family festival and a day of fun for all! It is a wonderful, heart-warming event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome. "

This will be our 2nd year to participate in the Buddy Walk. It is such a wonderful event. If you have any desire to support me view my team page and make a donation.

Sensational Sleep

I couldn't be more overjoyed right now (and so refreshed). Georgia has slept from 8:30pm - 7:00am the past two nights. Yes! And when I've greeted her in the morning to do the routine of diaper change, then feeding (just so she can refill the diaper again), she has greeted me in return with a huge grin. Amazing. I love her sweet smiles. This new sleeping routine will improve my quality of life without a doubt.

Georgia May Sieve

Born on 7/15/2008 at 7:52pm Georgia May finally arrived. She weighed 7lbs, 6 oz and was 19.5 inches long.

Georgia May Sieve is named after two of her great grandmothers - Georgia "Vidy" Metsker and Donna May Nebel.

Grandma Vidy and Grandma Donna May are very special to us. We decided to name our daughter after these two women in the hope that she will possess many of their characteristis.

We love these traits about Grandma Georgia "Vidy". She has a tender heart, a deep love for others, and a passion for life. She is an artist and a trend-setter. She has spunk and a bunny nose. She generously gives of her time, yet remembers to take time for herself every night to wind down and enjoy a bubble bath. Grandma always looks for opportunities to let her light shine brightly. Her faith in the Lord is constant and she is continually growing. She is a goldly woman.

Grandma Donna May knows how to love and accept everyone. She meets people where they are and challenges others in their faith journey. Wordly possessions are not important to Grandma Donna May. She spends her time quietly serving others. Who knows how many babies have been blessed by the blankets made by her hands? Grandma Donna May begins each day praying for others. We hope that Georgia May will remember others in her morning prayers and ask the Lord how he will use her each day.

We are so happy that Georgia May is here. Our love for her grows by the hour. What a gift she is to us. We remember that she is our daughter, but she really belongs to the Lord. We pray that He will use her to glorify His kingdom.
